Matthew Craig Scott movie list
Born and raised in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, Matt wrote, produced, and directed his first feature film, Two Sides To Every Story (2005) in between school and up to 20 hours of competitive swim practices a week. The film premiered at YoungCuts International Film Festival at the same time he started film school at York University in Toronto.
During his undergrad, he interned and worked professionally in post-production and special effects, crediting over 20 feature films, television series, MOWs, and music videos. Before graduation he also wrote, directed, and produced The Chadulet Affair (2007), The Hammer and the Locksmith (2008), The Suntan Scorcher (2008), and two half-hour television pilot episodes for a half-hour comedy series, Off Campus (2009).
In 2009, he graduated from York and continued to work in multiple departments on set and as a freelance writer, producer, and editor for clients; including major financial institutions and the ROM. During this time he developed and produced a series for the web, Stay Alive (2010) and wrote, produced, and directed his fifth film, Again (2012), which made official selection at Zero Film Festival in Toronto and Montreal.
Interested in new ways of storytelling, Matthew started a one year post-graduate study in Video Game Design at George Brown College, where he developed a stereoscopic game demo titled, The Hammer and the Locksmith. The open-world game was meticulously designed specifically for S3D and chronicled a British spy stuck behind the Berlin Wall on New Years Day 1962. The project won a him second place in a pitch contest. Matthew then transitioned from game to VFX for feature film and television work as a coordinator at a local visual effects studio, where he worked for a year before embarking to make his second feature film, Remember to High Five the Salesman.
