A couple married for more than 6 years loses hope for a child. On insistence of his wife he marries her sister. Shortly small squabbles between the two wives lead to comic situation and fun begins.

The story revolves around Bhagat's struggle to get his land back from the Sarpanch of the village, who wrongfully acquired their land. Bhagat is an alcoholic, votes only for money, and often fights with his wife.

Jaspal, a government employee, falls in love with Harman, a school teacher, and wants to marry her. Harman's father withholds his consent because he wants his daughter to marry a Patwari and pressures Jaspal to do whatever it takes to achieve it.
