Andrea Ravera is an Italian actor with more than 20 years of international film, web/tv series, and theatre experience. He has performed on locations throughout Europe, South America, and India in several languages, including Italian, Spanish, English, and Hindi.
Ravera studied acting in Italy with Francesca De Sapio of The Actor's Studio before landing his first career role as "Berta" in the film Private, directed by Tinto Brass. He then continued his training in Argentina, where he lived and worked from 2003-2012, with Raúl Serrano at the Acting School of Buenos Aires. He also studied with Guillermo Angelelli (March 2008 - October 2009) and Marcelo Savignone (March 2010 - February 2012).
During his time in Argentina, Ravera acted in a number of theatrical productions, including El Ingenio de los Orvantes by Yoska Lázaro and Detrás by Marcelo Savignone. He also played roles in various films, such as "Carcarlo" in director Samuele Sbrighi's La vida es un carnaval, "Luca" in Soledad, a short film directed by Marcelo Cepeda, and "Pagliaie" in the French TV movie Manhunt (La Traque), directed by Laurent Jaoui. Ravera also appeared in several television productions, including Hombres de honor, Sin código, Sos mi vida, El tiempo no para, Son de fierro, Niní, and Violetta, and he starred, in 2008, the docu-fiction Pasión Latina, directed by Juan Baldana.
In 2013, Ravera moved to India to continue his career and has since appeared in various films and web/tv productions, including Humshakals, Mahakumbh, Nannaku Prematho, Doctor Rakhmabai. He also participated in the tv production Chandra Nandini as "Megasthenes", an ancient Greek historian who served as ambassador to Seleucus I Nicator in India from 302-298 BCE. The role was particularly memorable for Ravera, as it challenged him to play a historical character 15 years older than his actual age.
In 2018, Ravera is part of the international production, The Ashram, directed by Ben Rekhi, where he played the role of "Surya", an introverted and suspicious spiritual seeker living in a mysterious community at the foothills of the Himalayas.
Afterwards, director Igor Maltiagliati choose him for his feature film, an Italian Comedy entitled Tutto Liscio (Everything's going smooth), for the role of "Belin", an eclectic accordion player who returns to Italy after 7 years of traveling throughout Asia and become part of an even more extravagant band named, precisely, the "Tutto Liscio".
And the next year, 2019, he embodies the character of "Simon Fraser", an authoritarian, merciless British Political Representative, in Jhansi Ki Rani, another acclaimed Indian tv historical drama, directed by Vaibhav Mutha and Deepak S.V., based on the life of the legendary queen Lakshmi Bai, who fought back against Britain's plan to annex her kingdom in the 1850s and became an icon of freedom in India.
Ravera is currently involved in a number of works in progress, among which stand out Humble Politician, a web series to be released in January 2022 directed by Saad Khan, where he is "Vladimir", an eccentric, clumsy Russian mafia guy, and Swaraj (Post-production), another Indian tv show directed by Suhail Tatari, as the sinister Portuguese General "Pixeito", at the time of Vasco de Gama's discovery of India.
Last but not least, the soon to be released feature film Randu Rahasyangal, directed by Arjun Lal and Ajithkumar Raveendran, wherein he plays his first lead role in an Indian production as a rough, frightening Spanish retired soldier, who comes to India to seek revenge for the murder of his daughter.
