Aaron Ikeda is an American Actor of Japanese and Korean decent. Best known for his recurring role as "Rex" on the hit sitcom "Scrubs"; Aaron has been featured most recently on the Netflix Limited Series "Unbelievable" and on hit TV shows "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia", "Superstore" and "Angie Tribeca". Aaron recently appeared on-stage for the world premier of the play "Southernmost" written by the up and coming Mary Lyon Kamitaki and directed by the award winning Jon Lawrence Rivera. The Playwrights' Arena production at the Atwater Village Theatre also starred Amielynn Abellera, Kimberly Alexander, Sharon Omi and Alberto Issac. Born and raised in the Hawaiian islands, Aaron grew up on the island of Oahu, in the city of Honolulu, in the suburb of Hawaii Kai. Aaron's Mother is renowned local politician, The Honorable Senator Donna Ikeda, who once chaired the states powerful Ways and Means Committee. His Father, William, aka Bill Ikeda, is an Army veteran, retired Draftsman and regular bowler who once scored a 299 near perfect game in league play. Aaron has two older sisters Rika and Julie. Aaron graduated from Kaiser High School, playing Trumpet in the Cougar Marching, Concert and Jazz bands, created and founded the Strategic Gamers Club and lettered in Soccer his Senior Year. Aaron went on to attend the University of Hawaii on a band scholarship, studying Communications, Theater and Dance. After dropping out due to financial reasons, Aaron began to pursue Acting and Modeling booking local commercials for Lion's Coffee, Liberty House, and American Savings but is best known for appearing in the karaoke music video "Friends" performed by local music legends "Na Leo Pilimehana". Aaron went on get his Screen Actor's Guild card by working as a background actor for 3 weeks on the film "WindTalkers" starring Nicholas Cage and Adam Beach. Aaron took a job as a Flight Attendant with United Airlines which landed him in San Francisco where he continued to study and polish his craft by attending the world renowned American Conservatory Theater. As a Flight Attendant, Aaron traveled extensively throughout Europe, Asia, Canada, Central America, Australia, New Zealand and has visited 47 of the 50 states (Sorry Alaska, North Dakota and Montana). Upon transferring to Los Angeles, Aaron continued to expand his acting range, joining Asian-American Theatre company East West Players in downtown LA and continued studying Improv at The Groundlings in Hollywood. Aaron met his wife Shari, also a Flight Attendant, on a flight from Los Angeles to Denver and were married on Waikiki Beach at the Moana Surfrider Hotel on Saturday, November 13th, 2004. A few years later, Aaron would leave United Airlines to pursue acting full-time. Aaron's so called "Big Break" came when he was cast, without an agent, on the hit NBC/ABC sit-com "Scrubs" as recurring character "Rex", an intern of Zach Braff's character Doctor John "J.D." Dorian. Initially scheduled for 2 episodes, "Rex" was brought back for an additional 8 episodes over 3 seasons, making his final appearance in the scheduled series finale in Season 8. Aaron went on to appear in several hit shows including "The War at Home" opposite Michael Rapaport and Rami Malek, "iCarly" opposite Nathan Kress and Noah Munck, "Angie Tribeca" opposite Rahida Jones and Keegan-Michael Key, "Superstore" opposite Ben Feldman and Nico Santos; and most recently "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" opposite Glenn Howerton, Caitlin Olsen and the legendary Danny DeVito. Aaron continues to appear in several national commercials, booking numerous spots including Geico, Grandma's Cookies, AT&T/Samsung, Lipton Ice-Tea, Audi, Chick-Fil-A, Best Buy, Bud Light, Citi Bank, and Shopping.com. Aaron resides in the Los Angeles area with his wife Shari and several rescued cats. Aaron is a regular runner, averaging 15-20 miles a week and periodically running in 10k races around Los Angeles. Aaron continues to attend scene study and auditioning classes with his teacher and coach Craig Wallace.
